Daria Luchinskaya (Academic Affairs Officer)

The college, the MCR, and the university all offer multiple forms of academic and career support to postgraduates.

MCR Academic Affairs Officer

Feel free to contact the MCR's Academic Affairs Officer with any concerns related to the progression of your studies at Oxford. The current MCR Academic Affairs Officer is Daria Luchinskaya and may be reached by emailing academic [at] st-annes-mcr.org.uk.

Senior Tutor

If you need to address academic concerns or queries to college, your first port of call is usually the Senior Tutor, who is the Fellow of St. Anne's responsible for monitoring the academic progress of students. The Senior Tutor of St. Anne's is Anne Mullen, who may be reached by emailing anne.mullen [at] st-annes.ox.ac.uk or phoning 01865 274858. The college Academic Office is located on the first floor of Hartland House on the main college site. You can also visit the contact page for the college Academic Office.

Careers Service

The university's Careers Service is just a short up the road from St. Anne's. Its address and contact information are as follows:

Oxford Careers
56 Banbury Road, Oxford OX2 6PA
Telephone: 01865 274646
Email: reception [at] careers.ox.ac.uk
Website: www.careers.ox.ac.uk/

The service is free to use and is definitely worth checking out. For more information, visit the Oxford Careers website.

College Advisors

All MCR members pursuing research programmes are assigned a College Advisor in their subject area (or in one closely related to it). Their job is to monitor your academic progress, discuss university reports with you, and generally be available to be consulted on academic matters. In short, their role is to act as a "secondary supervisor" of sorts, and they may be a good port of call for academic matters, particularly if you encounter problems with your main supervisor. If you are not sure who your College Advisor is, have a look at the list of Graduate Advisors.

Advisors may invite their advisees to lunch at the High Table every so often, and there are many other opportunities to meet fellows of the College at buffet suppers and drinks parties. If you have any problems getting hold of your graduate supervisor, please contact the MCR Academic Affairs Officer (Daria Luchinskaya, academic [at] st-annes-mcr.org.uk) or the Senior Tutor (Anne Mullen, anne.mullen [at] st-annes.ox.ac.uk). Typically you should be meeting with your College Advisor about once a term, though you may of course contact them whenever you feel you need their support.

Collections

At several times during the year, you will be asked if you would like to make an appointment to see the principal (Tim Gardam, tim.gardam [at] st-annes.ox.ac.uk). This is an opportunity to get any problems you might have been experiencing off your chest, provide thoughts on how you're finding your time in college, and give suggestions as to what college could do to make your studies at Oxford even better.
