Dining Hall

Dining in St. Anne's College.

The St. Anne's dining experience is one of the best in Oxford. Our Head Chef Raymond Killick, was recently awarded the prestigious award of "Chef of the Year," and our Second Chef, Andrew Castle, won the equally impressive award for the "Developing Chef of the Year."

Menus

The dining hall typically offers a choice of three or four dishes that cost between £2.50 and £3.50, depending on how hungry you are. A vegetarian option is always provided at mealtimes. You can view the dining hall menus online.

Using the dining hall

Unlike many other colleges, there is no need to pre-book in order to use the dining facilities, with the exception of special dinners (such as formal halls). Meals are paid for using your student card and are charged to your college account (battels) at the end of each term. If you plan to spend more than £120 in a term, it is advisable to visit the college Accounts Department (located on the ground floor of Hartland House) and provide an advance to cover your expenses.

At lunch, there are two tables set out specifically for MCR members to use (look for the signs) with free bottled water supplied. There are usually quite a few people in the dining hall every day, so this can be a nice way of getting away from your department or library for an hour or two to catch up with your St. Anne's buddies.

If you have any questions about our dining hall facilities (for example, concerns about allergies or special dietary requirements), please contact the college catering staff by emailing catering [at] st-annes.ox.ac.uk.

Opening times

The dining hall is open during term time (Weeks 0-9) as follows:

Breakfast: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM
Lunch: Monday to Friday, 12:15 PM to 1:45 PM
Dinner: Monday to Friday, 6:15 PM to 7:30 PM
Brunch: Saturday and Sunday, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Different times may apply for special dinners (such as formal halls). The dining hall is also sometimes available to MCR members outside of term time, although this typically requires booking in advance.
