College Sports Fair

The College Sports Fair takes place in Michaelmas on Thursday of Week 0 at 2 PM in the Dining Hall. This is your chance to see what sports teams St. Anne's has as well as meet the relevant captains.

If you miss the sports fair but are interested in playing for a college team, please contact the MCR Sports Secretary (Ruben Leavitt, sports [at] st-annes-mcr.org.uk).

Sports ground

St. Anne's shares a sports ground with St. John's College. The grounds are located on Woodstock Road north of the main college site, at about 7-8 minutes cycling (from RSH, they're due south and are even closer). You can also view a map of the location.

Tennis

The sports ground shared with St. John's includes 3 outdoor concrete tennis courts, which St. Anne's MCR members are free to use (make sure to bring your student card in case an official requests identification). To book a court, you can email the St. John's Groundsperson, Michael Moore (michael.moore [at] sjc.ox.ac.uk), although most of the time at least one court is free and you can just show up without an advance booking.

The MCR has tennis racquets and balls available for use, kept in the Wardens' Office at RSH and another set at the Lodge on the main site. Please return the racquets and balls immediately after your game. If you lose a ball, please do the honourable thing and replace it!

Football

If you'd like to play competitive football, we have an arrangement with St. John's College so that members of the St. Anne's MCR can play in their MCR's team. Games are on Saturday mornings; if you'd like to know more, please contact the MCR Sports Secretary, Ruben Leavitt, by emailing sports [at] st-annes-mcr.org.uk. You can of course also play for the St. Anne's JCR teams, who play during the week. As well, the MCR subsidises a range of sports such as basketball and ice skating.
